Athlete / Skyrunning and nutrition matters

Emelie Forsberg

A self-described “devoted mountain lover”, Emelie was born and raised on the northeastern coast of Sweden, where the hills and wild forests ignited her passion in nature and the environment from a young age.

She’s won some of the toughest and most prestigious trail and ski mountaineering races in the world, and is considered one of the best athletes in her field.

Emelie grew up surrounded by mountains. As a teenager, she began country skiing, whitewater kayaking and climbing, and an equal love for nature later inspired her to study biology at university. She moved to Norway and started competing in 2012. As a two-time skyrunning world- and ultra-running champion, she is also part of the Swedish Ski Mountaineering National Team, and has set speed records on mountains around the world. But above all these achievements, her boundless energy and kind, engaging personality has left a unique impression in the world of skimo and skyrunning.

Emelie is a health food and yoga enthusiast. With her fellow mountain athletes Ida Nilsson and Mimmi Kotka, she co-created her own organic sports food brand: Moonvalley. She wrote her first book, Sky Runner, in 2018, which has been translated into five languages.

"The core values and the philosophy of NNormal encourage me to think that I can be an athlete and protect nature at the same time. I’m really excited about it – and it’s inspiring me to do even more!"
