Kilian Jornet’s next challenge
This goes beyond podiums. For Kilian, he’s running to test his endurance, resilience, and imagination. Day after day, he will take on the equivalent of a Tour de France stage and a marathon. All at altitude, on technical terrain, with minimal rest. States of Elevation is his most demanding challenge yet, but also his most purposeful.

Built to go the distance
For a project of this scale, durable gear is critical. Kilian’s go-to shoe will be the Kjerag 02: built to move fast and efficiently across long, technical terrain.
Plus, NNormal rain jacket will be key against unpredictable conditions, while his merino shirt (a staple in both running and everyday life) offers natural comfort across climates.
Beyond proven gear, States of Elevation will also serve as a real-world test for upcoming prototypes and ensure every kilometer contributes to Kilian’s journey, as well as building better solutions for the our running and outdoor community.
“With the excuse of linking the 14ers, it’s also about exploring the American West — the vastness of the terrain and the cultures that have lived and continue to live there, as well as a nature that is often wild and incredibly diverse, ranging from alpine areas to dense forests and deserts.”
More than mountains
States of Elevation is about chasing peaks and purpose. Along the way, the Kilian Jornet Foundation (KJF) will host community runs, trail restoration days and conversations with local organisations. The goal of this project is to learn, share, and act, to listen to and strengthen the local work already being done.
