Take a walk in my Shoes

Why extend the life of your shoes?

From mountain peaks and across epic distances, our shoes take us places. But no matter how much we care for them, eventually they’ll wear out. Disposing of them is no easy task. Too often, worn-out shoes end up in landfills, or worse, on the beaches of wild, remote places.

We believe the best thing we can do for the planet is to use only what we truly need, and make the most out of the things we already own. That's why we design our products to be more repairable and recyclable, making it easier to extend their lifespan.

Our Take Back Program is part of our commitment to reducing waste by keeping gear in use for longer. By collecting only NNormal shoes, we can better coordinate repairs, recycling and reuse. While we continue to develop circular solutions, our focus remains on keeping gear in use for as long as possible.

Here, we do take backs.

Introducing our Take Back Collection Box, made from recycled shoes (maybe even yours). Right now, the box is our solution towards better, more circular systems – but we’re far from perfect. We’re working towards improving every day.

The more we return, the more we recycle. More returns mean more solutions, reduced recycling costs, and less waste. It’s a cycle that works well and scales when we all get involved. Exclusively for NNormal products. Together, let’s move closer to a world where we leave no trace.

“These shoes have accompanied me through mountains, rock, mud, and asphalt, from Euskal Herria to trails in Belfast, and even the lab in recent days. It's sad to part with them, but I can’t think of a better way than closing the loop. I hope they find usefulness in another context.”

– Maria Larrinaga

“The Kjerag are the most durable trail shoes I’ve ever used. After 1150 km, the cushioning is compressed but still present, and the Vibram sole still grips despite worn lugs. The mesh is untouched and still fits well.”

– Benjamin Arnal

“I’m someone who grows attached to things, especially to ‘things’ that have been with me through so many good moments. There’s a bond of complicity with mountain gear—it helps you reach your dreams at the cost of its own wear. These shoes have been with me through training, racing, traveling, and walking. I’ve stitched them up several times, but now they need rest. Time for a second life.”

– Borja Valdés

“I’ve run 800 miles in these shoes, then walked about 1000 more. Now I’d like to recycle them.”

– Grace Barrett-Johnson

Now it’s your turn.
