Testing in Zegama went well.

Their efforts can’t get any better

“My strategy was to run faster during the last 12 kms, and I did thanks to the amazing atmosphere Zegama has. But the weather was extremely dry, so it was tough.”

After 2 years of cancellations, the most sensational and difficult trail marathon in the world is back: Zegama! The expectations were high, and the competition did not disappoint.

Wearing the first prototypes from NNormal, Kilian Jornet, Emelie Forsberg, and Dakota Jones did their best to see how fast and durable they are.

Kilian broke the course record from 2017, set by Stian Angermund, with a time of 3:36:41. Even more amazing, this was his tenth victory at Zegama. “My strategy was to run faster during the last 12 kms, and I did thanks to the amazing atmosphere Zegama has. But the weather was extremely dry, so it was tough.”

Dakota Jones finished in 11th with a time of 3:55:39. “It was amazing! I am too tired and all I can think about is the amazing people supporting us during this incredible race.”

Emelie Forsberg started her weekend by winning the vertical kilometer on Friday, then followed that up with a 24th-place in the marathon in a time of 5:06:41. “It was painful but I have enjoyed more than ever.”

Thank you to everyone for living this first NNormal race with us! Stay tuned for some exciting news!
